"Staying Safe, Feeling Safe" is the theme for Wiltshire's community safety strategy.
West Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership and colleagues in Kennet, North Wiltshire and Salisbury, have worked together with the Safer Wiltshire Drugs Partnership to develop the strategy, which focuses on ways to reduce crime and combat drug misuse across the county.
Each district has its own aims and objectives within the wider document, based on the findings of the 2004 Crime and Drugs Audit (PDF file, opens in new window).
The strategy covers many aspects of community safety, including anti-social behaviour, alcohol-related nuisance, drug misuse and road safety. As well as reducing actual crime, the strategy aims to tackle the fear of crime, and this will be addressed by working in partnership with other agencies such as the County Council, the Police, youth offending teams and community workers.
You can view the strategy for reducing crime and drugs misuse in Wiltshire here.(PDF file, opene in new window.)
The West Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership Strategy groups the priority issues under nine main themes. These can be viewed on the page 'Aims of the West Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership'.
