Organising Safe Events

The Council has produced a guide jointly with Wiltshire County Council, Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Fire Brigade. The guide aims to give basic help to those who are organising outdoor events. Events covered include large outdoor fetes, fairs, country and craft shows, car boot fairs, etc which are often held at schools or on public or private parkland, in an open field or hard-standing with little or no facilities.

The guide includes information on:

• Licenses (eg: public entertainments, music, lotteries/ raffles, films, alcohol)
• Risk Assessment
• Street Closures
• Marches, processions and carnivals
• Stewards
• Catering and Food Safety
• Useful Contacts, books and publications
