Downloading a Map for Personal Search Application

Instructions

• Go to www.multimap.com (external site, opens in a new browser window)
• In the "quick search", enter the postcode or street name of the land
• This will open a map of the area. To "capture" the map electronically, click "Alt" and "Print Screen" keys on your keyboard (this pastes a copy of the screen image to the clipboard)
• Now open up a copy of Microsoft Paint (or other graphics package). To open MS Paint, click on "start", "programs", "accessories" "paint"
• When you have Paint open, click "edit", "paste"
• This will paste a copy of the map image from Multimap into Paint, ready for you to edit
• Please use the tools within Paint to outline/ circle the area of land which your enquiry relates to
• Next, click "file", "save" from the Paint menu at the top of the screen
• Save the map (bmp) file to an area of your hard disk (c: drive)
• You can then either print the map and fax it to Land Charges on 01225 776792, or email it to jwhite@westwiltshire.gov.uk or gcurran@westwiltshire.gov.uk
