Sports and Physical Activity

There's lots to keep you active in West Wiltshire. From cycling or walking along the canal towpaths, working out at one of the District's leisure centres, taking a relaxing swim at one of our five pools,booking a football pitch, playing golf, fishing, or simply making the most of the countryside and parks, the options are endless.

The Sports Development team work on a number of projects that aim to increase the physical activity levels of people living within West Wiltshire.  This maybe introducing you into a club environment, providing an opportunity to try a new sport or activity, training coaches to support the development of clubs or developing competitions.  We aim to achieve this through partnership working and the delivery of West Wiltshire projects such as the summer holiday programme "Fun in the sun."

Alongside the more formal sporting opportunities provided by the Council there is also the informal activity which takes place every single day - the kick about in the park with your friends, playing at your local play area or cycling/walking to work.
