There is some wonderful countryside in the district - Southwick Country Park has thick hedgerows, ponds and long grass. It is home to a variety of small mammals If you would like to help to maintain this environment and socialise at the same time, why not join us on one of our events. No prior booking is necessary. Those aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and are not covered by our insurance. If the adult is not their parent they should bring written permission from the parent. Cutting scrub. By removing hawthorn and ash bushes we will help safeguard wildflowers and butterflies. Meet at the bottom end of the approach road to the golf club, Elm Hill, ST 857 457. Led by Nicky Warden, Salisbury Plain Wildlife Officer.
Tree planting and tree care. Meet at the car park in Frome Road (A361) between Trowbridge and Southwick grid ref ST 878 458. Look for a sign on the gate to find us if you are late.
Planting shrubs. Meet by the bridge over the stream in Queensway, Melksham, grid ref ST 911638.
Cutting scrub. Meet as for 12 November.
Smallbrook Meadows, Warminster

Conigre Mead, Melksham
This little grassland reserve lies behind Sainsbury's, and a work party is held on the third Saturday of every month from 10am -12.30pm. Contact The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust on 01380 725670 ext 257.
Green Lane Wood, Trowbridge
A superb woodland managed in the traditional way. A work party meets on the first Sunday of every month. Contact the Reserve Warden Peter Lindsay on 01225 785142.
