Arts Development Service

Arts Development Service

West Wiltshire District Council recognises that it has a role to play in the development of the arts in West Wiltshire.  The arts cover a wide range of creative opportunities in West Wiltshire, including visual arts and crafts, media arts, performing arts and literature.  It recognises that the arts are important to individual well being and provide both social opportunities and a vehicle of addressing wider social agendas.

It aims to enable and encourage all sectors of the community to have equal access to a range of high quality arts opportunities either as participants or audiences.  It provides support and works in partnership with others to ensure high quality arts opportunities are made possible in a sustained and targeted way which reflect the needs of the local community.  The focus of the work is opportunities for young people, rural areas and generally more activities through supporting key arts organisations, local groups and participatory projects.

This work is guided by the Council's Arts Development Plan.  To view or download a summary of the Arts Development Plan plan, please click here.
