Homelessness accommodation

The housing needs team has access to various forms of temporary accommodation for households within the West Wiltshire area who become homeless and require accommodation. West Wiltshire District Council does not manage any permanent housing itself, having transferred its housing stock to Selwood Housing in March 2001.

We do, however, own and directly manage two hostels used as temporary housing for homeless households with a provision of 54 units. We currently have two full-time accommodation and support officers who manage Hillside hostel in Warminster and Kingsbury Square hostel in Melksham. They are on site from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday and both hostels are covered 24 hours a day by recorded CCTV coverage.

We also have a contract with Sarsen Housing Association to provide a private sector leasing scheme, using private lets as a form of  temporary accommodation for homeless households.

If you would like to ask any further questions regarding our temporary accommodation please contact the housing needs team on 01225 776655.
