If you pay Rent or Council Tax and have savings of less than £16,000 you could be entitled to help by claiming Housing and Council Tax Benefit.

You should still make a claim for these benefits even if you receive Income Support or Job-seekers Allowance. Any delays in applying could cause loss of Benefit
If you think that your claim should start from an earlier date, you must contact us to give the reasons why. We can only backdate your benefit if you can show that you had a good reason for not claiming from the earlier date. Please contact us for further information and advice.
