How can I report an abandoned vehicle?

Any vehicle which has been discarded by the owner, and has not been moved for some weeks, is considered abandoned. If you are reporting an abandoned vehicle we will need to know the car registration, location of the vehicle, colour, make and model, and condition of the vehicle. How much is a season car parking permit?

Residents' passes may be available for residents who have no convenient alternative to parking in our pay and display car parks, for instance due to on-street restrictions.

Annual Season tickets are available. These are not transferable between vehicles and will only be valid in a specific town. Short stay restrictions must be observed.

What is the charging period for car parks in the district?

Pay and display machines are in operation between:

0800 - 1800 Monday to Saturday

 

Do disabled badge holders have to pay to park in pay and display car parks?

Disabled persons displaying a ‘Blue Badge’ or similar may park free of charge for up to three hours, either in a disabled bay or any other space. This exemption only applies if the time of arrival is clearly shown, for instance on a parking disc.

Note:

  • If staying more than 3 hours, then the whole length of stay minus the 3 hours must be paid for
  • In short stay car parks length of stay is restricted to 3 hours maximum
  • All other restrictions including parking outside of marked spaces still apply.

Is there anywhere for coaches to park in the district?

Yes, coaches can park in the following car parks:

  • Station Car Park, Bradford on Avon (four spaces)
  • Broad Street Car Park, Trowbridge (two spaces)
  • King Street Car Park, Melksham

 

Is there anywhere for lorries to park in the district?

Lorries can only park in specified areas.

There is currently only one Council operated lorry park in the district - King Street Car Park in Melksham, for which there is no charge.

There is also a privately operated lorry park at the Granada Service Station, situated on the A36/A350 roundabout at Warminster.
