Street Cleansing
The contract for Street Cleansing within the West Wiltshire District was awarded to English Landscapes Ltd with effect from 1st December 2007.
Our Streetscene Customer Officer monitors the standard of cleansing provided under the contract and carries out regular inspections to ensure ALL areas within the district are cleansed on a regular basis to the standard expected. Street Cleansing schedules have been developed using the new High, Medium & Low usage zones as defined in the Code of Practice for Litter & Refuse published by DEFRA in April 2006.
Street Cleansing standards are monitored nationally using the Best Value Performance Indicator programme, the cleanliness indicator is BVPI 199. Regular BVPI inspections take place across the area to assess levels of litter, detritus, graffiti and fly posting. West Wiltshire is currently beating targets for cleanliness across all areas.
