Household Recycling Centres

West Wiltshire has three Household Recycling Centres (HRCs), open seven days a week (except Christmas and New Year’s Day). They are equipped to take a range of items for recycling, but can also take general household waste for disposal.

The sites are as follows:

Melksham

(1st April to 31st October)

Open daily from 9am to 5pm (open until 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday during the summer)

Winter opening hours

(1st November to 31st March)

9am to 4pm every day except Christmas Eve (open till noon), Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

Trowbridge

All three sites provide recycling facilities for:

• Rigid plastics such as plastic toys, yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, plastic bags, plant pots
• Green garden waste
• Rubble and soil
• Metals and ‘white goods’ such as fridges and cookers
• Car batteries and motor oil
• Textiles
• Untreated timber
• Drinks cartons
• Yellow Pages
