What can I recycle?
There are many facilities in West Wiltshire to recycle items that would otherwise go to landfill.
Green bins can accept compostable garden waste:
Black boxes can accept:
Mini recycling centres can one or more of the following items:
For details regarding which of these materials can be accepted at each centre, please visit the mini recycling centres page.
Household Recycling Centres can accept larger items, including garden waste. All sites can accept:
For more information on what materials can be recycled and the nearest locations, please visit www.recycle-more.co.uk (opens link in new window).
You may want to start recycling your own kitchen/ garden waste by composting. For more information please visit the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust's website at www.wiltshirewildlife.org (opens in new window).
Don't forget you can also do your bit by reducing the amount of rubbish generated, by re-using plastic bags, and buying less pre-packaged food. More information concerning food waste is available on our reducing your waste page or at www.lovefoodhatewaste.com (opens in a new window).
Most major charities now offer recycling for old mobile phones and printer cartridges. Please check with your preferred charity to see if this is a service that they offer. Most charities are able to claim back money for donated items.
