Household Recycling Centres

West Wiltshire has three Household Recycling Centres (HRCs), open seven days a week (except Christmas and New Year’s Day). They are equipped to take a range of items for recycling, but can also take general household waste for disposal.

The sites are as follows:

Melksham

Summer opening hours (April to October)

    Open daily from 9am to 5pm (open until 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday during the summer)

Winter opening hours (November to March)  

  9am to 4pm every day except Christmas Eve (open till noon), Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day

Trowbridge

All three sites provide recycling facilities for:

• Aluminium and steel cans
• Plastic bottles
• Green garden waste
• Rubble and soil
• Metals and ‘white goods’ such as fridges and cookers
• Car batteries and motor oil
• Textiles
• Untreated timber
• Drinks cartons
