Is there anything I can do to prevent my bin from being stolen?

We have listed some helpful tips below on how to make your bin less attractive to thieves:

  • Place your bin back on to your property following collection
  • If you know you are going to be away then ask a friend or neighbour to bring your bin in for you
  • It is advisable to mark your house number on to your bin, as unmarked bins are more attractive to thieves.

There are companies that allow you to customise your bin, which can be a fun way to prevent theft. Wheelie Bin ART Ltd design and supply a full range of fun and artistic stickers for wheelie bins. They are primarily a web-based company - please visit www.wheelie-bin-art.co.uk.
