Air Quality - Update & Screening Assessment 2003

Update and Screening Assessment of Air Quality in West Wiltshire (July 2003)

This report is the first step of a revised review and assessment process which is referred to as an Updating and Screening Assessment looking at Air Quality.

The purpose of the report if to identify any significant changes which may impact upon air quality since the first round of review and assessments was completed in 2000.

The report looks at any new monitoring data; new objectives; new sources or significant changes to existing sources, either locally or in neighbouring authorities and other local changes that might affect air quality.

This Updating and Screening Assessment concludes that a detailed assessment will have to be undertaken for nitrogen dioxide as it is likely that an exceedance of the objective will occur in the towns of Bradford on Avon and Westbury. It should be noted that these two towns are subject to Air Quality Management Areas and work is currently progressing in this area.
