Ants live in nests but travel to find food. Ensure that sugary foods are kept in sealed containers and all food spillages are cleaned up.
To deal with an ant problem effectively the nest needs to be found and destroyed. Look around to find the place with the most ants, usually in a crack, crevice or a hole in the garden.
We recommend you use a powder insecticide containing Bendiocarb. This can be found in DIY or hardware stores and is usually sold in puffer packs labelled Ant Killer or Crawling Insect Powder.
Squirt the powder into the nest and other cracks, crevices and holes where the ants have been seen. Sweep up any surplus powder to protect children and small animals. Follow the instructions on the label.
You are more like to be successful in eliminating ants altogether if you use a reliable insecticide. For a more environmentally friendly approach try using salt or boiling water. You may need to repeat the treatment.
All pesticides applied by our qualified staff are chosen to ensure the safety of the public and to minimise damage to the environment.
