Instructions for Downloading Electronic Map

• open up a new browser window (just double click your internet explorer icon again)
• go to www.multimap.com
• In the "quick search", enter the postcode or street name of the land
• This will open a map of the area. To "capture"the map electronically, click "Alt" and "Print Screen" keys on your keyboard (this pastes a copy of the screen image to the clipboard)
• Now open up a copy of Microsoft Paint (or other graphics package). To open MS Paint, click on "start", "programs", "accessories" "paint"
• When you have Paint open, click "edit", "paste"
• This will paste a copy of the map image from Multimap into Paint, ready for you to edit
• Please use the tools within Paint to outline/ circle the area of land which your enquiry relates to
• Next, click "file", "save"from the Paint menu at the top of the screen
• Save the map (bmp) file to an area of your hard disk (c: drive)
• Open up your email
• Create a new message to propertyservices@westwiltshire.gov.uk, and attach the map file you have just created
• Finally, if you have not been able to complete the above steps, or need any further help, please contact the Property Services team on 01225 776655.
