Historic Environment Conservation Strategy

The Council has produced an Historic Environment Conservation Strategy.

This was agreed by Cabinet in June 2004. The draft version is presently available and a final version is being prepared.

As part of the strategy and the Draft Local Development Scheme (LDS), a review of the District's Conservation Areas is being undertaken, starting with the five historic towns. Character assessments for each one are also intended to be produced.
