Smoke

Smoke can be a cause of extreme distress. The Environmental Health Section receives numerous complaints of bonfires lit with little regard to others. Clouds of smoke from bonfires can spoil others' enjoyment of their homes and gardens and may cause severe discomfort.

We have information and advice available to make sure that you and your neighbour understand the problems and some of the remedies to prevent this. See our bonfires page for some steps which, if observed, should greatly reduce the risk of neighbour wars.
