Burial where no other arrangements exist

When someone dies with no will and has no relatives to deal with the funeral/estate, the council can organise the funeral and clear up the estate. This only applies to persons with no will/ no relatives who die in their own home or a nursing home, the authority is not involved if the death occurs in hospital.
