Your life - dealing with disability

The Council produces an Access Guide with information on businesses, shops and other premises in West Wiltshire and the facilities offered for people with disabilities.

If you need to make alterations to your home for the purpose of accommodating someone with a disability, you may qualify for a discount in Council Tax - please e-mail revenuesandbenefits@westwiltshire.gov.uk.

The Council also offers disabled facilities grants. These are for a range of works to help people with special needs live independently in their home. For instance, to make it easier to get in and out of the home, to improve access around the home, improve or provide a suitable heating system, or provide a specially adapted room etc. More information on disabled facilities grants.
