Rural business mentoring service

The provision of proactive support for rural businesses wishing to grow and the encouragement of innovation are seen as key priorities in Wiltshire.

We recognise that running and developing a business can be a lonely task and mentoring is one of the most effective methods of support to small business leaders, particularly in rural locations.

The Wiltshire Rural Business Mentoring Programme started in September 2006 and will run until March 2008, providing a specialist service throughout rural Wiltshire.

If your business (start-up or established) has less than 250 people and you are rurally located we can match you with a rural business mentor. This service is available to all types of business and our mentors have particular specialist knowledge of:

  • The Tourism Sector
  • Businesses within local communities
  • Food Farming and Forestry
  • Businesses being run by ex-servicemen
  • Businesses operating on the urban fringes of Wiltshire’s larger towns
