Bonfires
Safety
Do not use petrol or other highly flammable substances to light a bonfire. This may result in explosion or "flashback" which may cause injury.
Make sure that you can put the fire out immediately if there is a risk that a blaze could become out of control. If possible use a purpose designed incinerator.
Do not leave children in charge of a bonfire.
Have a First Aid kit handy.
Do not light bonfires near buildings, fences or hedges. Not only is there a fire hazard but the smoke and smuts may discolour painted surfaces, leave marks on windows or damage hedges.
